Breweries dress up for taste of Halloween magic

Deep Brewing Company has added seating and cover to their outdoor space.

Perhaps it's the fall weather or COVID's emphasis on outdoor seating, but we've noticed a lot of work done around the outside of our breweries, and we're all for it!

Seeing area beer gardens and patios as beautiful and robust as our #TLHBeers is a lovely thing. Recently we've witnessed sunsets over the live stage at Southern Fields, Deep nearly doubled their outdoor space while adding canopies for shade or rainy days, and exciting images of an impressive patio coming soon to Ology's Powermill location.

Additionally, the well-established fire pits and patios of the Lake Tribe vibe, or the gameday atmosphere at Proof, or the unique brews with a view of the bay at Eastpoint, and it's hard to be anything less than ecstatic for the cooler temps (and darker beers) ahead.

As people gear up for Halloween, always a vibrant and busy time around our breweries, we'd love to see pictures of you all dressed up, supporting local, and keeping it distanced (because nobody wants to deal with the specter of another spike) in these outdoor spaces.

Here's the Halloween rundown.

Deep Brewing Company

2524 Cathay Ct #2, Tallahassee, FL 32308

Leave it to a brewery with black and orange branding to roll out something special for Halloween. On Saturday, Deep Brewing company is tapping four fright night inspired brews for their "All Hallow's End — Night of the Flight." Starting at noon and running until 10 p.m., the specialty beer releases cover sours, lagers, and stouts and should have a treat for every tastebud.

Here's the lineup:

Dem Bones - a Tiki inspired sour featuring lime, guava, pomegranate, ginger, anise, and rum flavor.

Hallow's End - A blood-red Florida Lager infused with cranberry and hibiscus

All About the Boos - Export stout with pumpkin spices

Now with More Boos - Imperial stout with ghost and reaper peppers and a smidge of cinnamon and vanilla.

Lake Tribe's outdoor patio, shown during an earlier celebration, is releasing Raised by Wolves for Halloween.

Lake Tribe Brewing

3357 Garber Dr #4, Tallahassee, FL 32303

On Saturday, the vibe at Lake Tribe goes to the dogs — literally! Always a fan of our four-legged friends, the gang at Lake Tribe wants to see your pup all dressed up in Halloween attire. Dress your dogs in costume and take a photo of them in Lake's festive Fall photo staging area, and don't forget to snag a complimentary bag of spent grain dog treats.

Releasing this week is "Raised by Wolves," an IPA infused with citrus jasmine tea! Prominent sweet fruit and tropical notes balance perfectly with the floral and herbal notes of the delicate tea. New to the taplist is Tribe's latest — and last for this year — hazy IPA "Sod Cemetary." Sod is hopped with Wiamea and Motueka for a strong tropical fruit flavor and an aroma featuring tangerine, lemon-lime zest, and just a touch of pine.

If you're looking for something a little more macabre, don't forget about draft pours of wild sours "The Raven" and "El Chupacabra."

Ology Brewing

We didn't know that Ology Brewing Company's Irrefutable Logic: Peanut Butter and Chocolate stout was an annual Halloween release, but when Owner/Brewer Nick Walker dropped that dime on us, we went ahead and circled the date--for the next 5 years! The stout, inspired by a particular chocolate-covered peanut butter confection, has been aging for more than a year in Heaven Hills barrels awaiting its Saturday release. Bottles go on sale online at 8 a.m.

While picking up that bottle o' logic at Midtown, be sure to stick around as the gang at Ology taps the mash: the Monster Mash. A barrel-aged stout featuring graham cracker, marshmallow, and fudge that's bound to have beer fans clamoring for s'more.

Suppose you're not looking to don a costume Saturday, no problem. There are two other ways to win, with raffles featuring "Wicked Tickets" and "Spooky Tickets."
